West Coast District Hospital Upgrade

To meet the current and future needs of the West Coast region of Tasmania, the first stage of the West Coast District Hospital masterplan is set to deliver additional aged care beds, and include the redesign of the Emergency Department.

The scope of works for the upgraded ED will see construction of a negative pressure multi-use room, as well as creating an airlock at the street entrance and relocate the waiting room. It will also ensure improved patient flow from the ambulance bay through the emergency department treatment rooms and cover the installation of telehealth facilities to improve access to allied health and specialist services for all patients presenting to the West Coast District Hospital.
